A Chinese tradition for over two thousand years, the flying lantern is a unique gift for any noteworthy occasion. Just write your most desired wish, light it and gaze upwards as it drifts up, up and away into the clouds. Not only beautiful and mesmerising to watch, legend has it your wish will come true too.
Surprising your friends on their birthday is something really special- we all love seeing the look of shock/horror/bewilderment and ultimately joy when they realise their nearest and dearest have put their heads together to come up with something they will remember for a long time to come. If you or someone you love is celebrating a significant birthday (in our eyes, this means every year!), why not make their celebration day something even more fantastic with a display of Chinese lanterns for the guests to set off during the course of the night. What better way to show you care than to encourage the party guests to make wishes for the birthday boy/girl, write them on a lantern and set them off into the night sky. A magical display will wow them, and give them a birthday to remember. We can also provide a lantern display team to help your guests with unwrapping and lighting the Chinese lanterns safely, putting everyone’s mind at further rest, and meaning you, the organiser, can sit back and take a well-eared break from worrying about the festivities.
If you have any questions about any of our products or about hiring a display team for any event, please do get in touch and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

NFU South East spokeswoman Isobel Bretherton says: "We are urging people to think twice before buying these flying lanterns and releasing them, attractive as they are. Unfortunately, all too often Chinese lanterns land on farmland. Their fine metal wire frames do not biodegrade and they can cause immense suffering to animals.”

As Chinese New Year falls on Feb. 7,many of the residents in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, regardless of their ethnicity, are busy shopping and their the most favourite items are Chinese New Year's decorations in the city's Chinatown, or known as Glodok in West Jakarta.

This is part of the Chinese New Year festivities in recent years. The festivities have been greeted with a great deal of hype in the capital city as well as other cities in the country.

"I love buying Chinese lanterns because I feel serene when I look at them," the Jakarta Post daily on Wednesday quoted Rini, a housewife from Cibubur in East Jakarta as saying.
